The Standard 762mm (30 Inch) Fire Door
762mm, or 30 inches, is the standard internal door width in the UK, so this is where most fire door projects begin and where our range is at its widest. If you are fitting fire doors to bedrooms, living rooms or a hallway in a home built to modern sizing, this is almost certainly the width you need. Every door here is one of our oak fire doors in a 762mm width, an oak veneer over a dense, fire-resisting engineered core.
How these doors are made
The doors in this width are supplied by established fire-door makers including Deanta, LPD and JB Kind, and all share the same build: a fire-resisting core faced with an oak veneer and edged with oak lippings. The core carries the certification while the oak face provides the grain. The majority are FD30, rated for up to 30 minutes, which suits most homes; where 60 minutes is specified, our FD60 fire doors meet that standard.
The fullest choice of styles
Because 762mm is the most common size, it offers the widest choice of designs. You can pick a modern flush or grooved face, a panelled door for a classic look, or a traditional period design. Glazed options are available too where you want to bring light into a darker hall or landing.

Prefinished or unfinished
Doors at this width come both prefinished and unfinished. A prefinished door has its faces sealed at the factory and is faster to hang, but any hinge, latch and handle cut-outs expose bare oak that must be sealed as you fit. An unfinished door lets you choose your own tone, though every face and edge should be treated before use, as covered in our internal door treatments guide.
Completing the fire doorset
A fire door only achieves its rating as a complete, fitted set. It needs a suitable fire door frame or lining to hang in. The correct fire-rated hinges then carry the weight of the leaf, and intumescent strips and smoke seals close the gaps around the door as a fire takes hold.
