How they are built

A traditional fire door earns its rating from its core, not from being a solid piece of oak. Each door pairs a dense, fire-resisting engineered core with an oak-veneered face and matching oak lippings, tested together as a complete door to the FD30 standard for up to 30 minutes of protection. That construction is what lets a period-looking door perform as a genuine fire door, and it keeps the leaf stable and flat in the frame.
