Oak Frames for Your External Door

A door is only as good as the frame that holds it. A frame carries the weight of the door, keeps the opening true and square, and seals the threshold against the British weather. And when it is crafted from the same timber as the door, it turns a new door into a complete, coordinated entrance.

Crafted in solid oak

Our external door frames are worked from solid oak to match the grain, colour and character of our solid oak external doors, so the frame and the door read as one. Like the doors, they are built for exterior use and finished to your choice of treatment.

Sized to suit your door

Whatever you are hanging, there is a frame to match. Choose one to carry a front door and set the tone of your entrance, or a hard-wearing back door for the everyday. We also make frames for a stable door, where the split leaves need a frame built to suit, and they finish our veneered external doors just as neatly as our solid oak ones. Non-standard openings can be made bespoke on request.

Fanlight and vestibule frames

For a brighter hallway, a fanlight frame carries a glazed panel above the door and adds height to the entrance. For a porch, an entrance lobby or a set of French and patio doors, a vestibule frame creates a wider, framed opening that takes side and top panels.

Complete the doorway

A frame is one part of a weathertight doorway. An oak weather bar deflects driving rain at the foot of the door. An Aquamac door seal closes the gaps that let draughts through. And the right external door treatment protects the timber for years to come.

A more economical alternative

Every frame is made from either solid oak or a hard-wearing hardwood. Where a lower-cost frame is wanted, the hardwood version offers the same weather-ready protection at a friendlier price.
