Fire Doors in an 813mm (32 Inch) Width
At 813mm, or 32 inches, this is a wider-than-standard leaf that sits between the common 30 inch door and the broadest 33 inch size. It suits larger rooms and openings where a standard width would look a little narrow, and it is often chosen where a more generous, accessible opening is wanted. Every door here is one of our oak fire doors in an 813mm width, an oak veneer over a dense, fire-resisting engineered core.
How these doors are made
The doors in this width come from established fire-door makers such as Deanta, LPD and JB Kind, built as all genuine fire doors are: a fire-resisting core faced with an oak veneer and edged with oak lippings. The core provides the certification while the oak face provides the finish. Most are FD30, rated for up to 30 minutes; where a 60-minute door is specified, our FD60 fire doors meet that standard.
A wider standard width
Because 813mm is less common than 762mm, the choice of designs is more focused, but you can still match the door to your interior. Modern flush faces suit contemporary rooms, while panelled designs work in more traditional spaces. If you are fitting this width for accessibility, remember that the clear opening depends on the frame and how far the door swings back, so check the actual width you need.
- Modern flush and grooved faces for contemporary rooms
- Panelled designs for traditional interiors
- Glazed options for light-sharing openings
- Prefinished or unfinished to suit your fitting plan
Prefinished or unfinished
These doors are supplied both prefinished and unfinished. A prefinished door has sealed faces and is faster to hang, though any hinge, latch and handle cut-outs expose bare oak that must be sealed as you fit. An unfinished door lets you choose your own tone, but every face and edge should be treated before use, as covered in our internal door treatments guide.
Completing the fire doorset
A fire door only reaches its rating as a complete, fitted set. It needs a suitable fire door frame or lining sized to the opening. The correct fire-rated hinges then carry the leaf, and intumescent strips and smoke seals close the gaps around the door as a fire takes hold.
813mm (32 Inch) Fire Door FAQs
No. Like all genuine fire doors, each 813mm door has a dense, fire-resisting engineered core finished with an oak veneer and oak lippings. The core delivers the fire rating while the oak face gives the natural grain of an oak door.
