Thames Prefinished Oak Half Light Glazed Internal Door

The Thames half light is a Mexicano-style glazed oak door, with a clear pane across the upper half and a grooved oak panel below. The glass carries etched vertical lines that echo the vertical grooves of the Mexicano range, so light passes between rooms while the door keeps its clean, lined character. It sits well among our modern oak internal doors, and the solid lower panel keeps a sense of privacy where you want it, on a hallway or a kitchen doorway.

It is built as an oak veneer over a solid core rather than solid oak throughout, so it feels substantial and stays stable while the oak face brings natural grain and warmth. The glazed half is fitted with clear toughened safety glass with etched vertical lines, and the door pairs with oak skirting and architrave in a matching tone. It comes prefinished and ready to hang, with a trimming allowance and a 15 year manufacturer's guarantee.

The Thames hangs on standard hinges and takes a lever handle, so you can match the ironmongery from our door handles and hardware.

Being prefinished it is ready to use, though any edge trimmed to fit should be resealed. Our door treatments cover a suitable hardwax oil for trimmed edges, and the maintenance guide explains keeping the finish topped up.

Please note that this product is prefinished. When installing door fittings and/or trimming the door size, be sure to treat newly exposed surfaces with a Hardwax oil to reseal those areas. Because it’s important that our products get to you in perfect condition and on time, we only work with trusted, reliable delivery companies who have an excellent reputation. To allow you to spend where it matters, the cheapest available delivery option will automatically be selected at the checkout stage. Don’t forget that orders over £750 will qualify for free shipping!

*We apply a shipping surcharge of £35.00 to certain postcodes for door orders and £25 for timber only orders, which can also add an additional 5 working days to the delivery lead time, see our delivery page for more information.

For Standard deliveries, you will receive contact from the courier prior to delivery. For Express deliveries, you will not receive contact from the courier, with the aim to avoid delays in the Express delivery.

If you have chosen additional options for your items such as prefinishing, please allow up to an additional 10 working days for delivery. This will depend on the number of in-house oiling requests and the chosen finish which will affect the number of coats and required drying time.

Generally delivery is a weekday service. Couriers may however operate on weekends during busy periods. As such, we are unable to offer weekend deliveries, but this may be offered by the courier if they call to arrange your delivery date and time. Please note that your delivery will be made to the kerbside. As such, please ensure you can move your order to a secure location.

All delivery times given are based on orders being placed before 12-midday and the lead times are from once your order has been dispatched, not placed.

As unforeseen circumstances can, on the rare occasion, cause delivery issues, we do not recommend booking any tradesmen until your items have been delivered.

Flooring Delivery

Delivery is typically 7-10 days from order date. Your flooring will normally come on a pallet and be shipped using a kerbside delivery. We will call you before delivery to agree a date that suits as someone will need to be available to help offload. Please remember that our solid oak flooring is particularly thick and therefore very heavy. 65m2 will weigh approximately 1 tonne/1000kg.
