Description

The Mexicano Offset Frosted Glazed Prefinished Oak Door takes the bold vertical grooves of the Mexicano range and sets a frosted glazed panel off to one side, drawing in daylight while keeping the view between rooms private.

About the Mexicano Offset Frosted Glazed Door

Factory prefinished and ready to hang, this door brings a contemporary, architectural edge to hallways, living spaces and bedrooms. The offset glazed panel steps away from the usual central layout for a more modern look, while the lined grooves give the face its rhythm and texture.

Oak veneer face

The face is a natural oak veneer, finished at the factory so the grain and tone stay consistent from door to door. The prefinished surface is ready to install straight away and needs only light upkeep to stay protected.

Engineered core

Beneath the veneer sits a solid engineered core. This gives the door its stability and resists the twisting and warping that can affect lighter hollow doors, and it provides a sound base for hanging and for fitting handles and latches.

Glazing

The offset panel is fitted with frosted toughened safety glass, so daylight passes through while the direct view is obscured for privacy. It suits rooms that want borrowed light without being on show. The glazing is supplied already fitted.

Sizes

Available in three standard sizes, all 35mm thick: 1981 x 686mm, 1981 x 762mm and 1981 x 838mm. Each door can be trimmed by up to 8mm on each side, the top and the bottom to fit your opening; staying within that allowance keeps the core and the glazing sound.

Finishing & Care

As a prefinished door it arrives ready to install, but the surface should be refinished roughly every six months to keep it protected from daily wear. If you trim the door to size, give the cut edges a light coat of the same treatment so they stay sealed. We recommend an oil from our Treatex Hardwax or Osmo Hardwax ranges, our tried and tested choice for oak internal doors.

Please note that this product is prefinished. When installing door fittings and/or trimming the door size, be sure to treat newly exposed surfaces with a Hardwax oil to reseal those areas. The doors displayed on our website vary in appearance due to the different finishes being used by ourselves and customers alike; in addition to the natural qualities of the wood, this will also contribute to the door’s appearance. Because it’s important that our products get to you in perfect condition and on time, we only work with trusted, reliable delivery companies who have an excellent reputation. To allow you to spend where it matters, the cheapest available delivery option will automatically be selected at the checkout stage. Don’t forget that orders over £750 will qualify for free shipping!

*We apply a shipping surcharge of £35.00 to certain postcodes for door orders and £25 for timber only orders, which can also add an additional 5 working days to the delivery lead time, see our delivery page for more information.

For Standard deliveries, you will receive contact from the courier prior to delivery. For Express deliveries, you will not receive contact from the courier, with the aim to avoid delays in the Express delivery.

If you have chosen additional options for your items such as prefinishing, please allow up to an additional 10 working days for delivery. This will depend on the number of in-house oiling requests and the chosen finish which will affect the number of coats and required drying time.

Generally delivery is a weekday service. Couriers may however operate on weekends during busy periods. As such, we are unable to offer weekend deliveries, but this may be offered by the courier if they call to arrange your delivery date and time. Please note that your delivery will be made to the kerbside. As such, please ensure you can move your order to a secure location.

All delivery times given are based on orders being placed before 12-midday and the lead times are from once your order has been dispatched, not placed.

As unforeseen circumstances can, on the rare occasion, cause delivery issues, we do not recommend booking any tradesmen until your items have been delivered.

Flooring Delivery

Delivery is typically 7-10 days from order date. Your flooring will normally come on a pallet and be shipped using a kerbside delivery. We will call you before delivery to agree a date that suits as someone will need to be available to help offload. Please remember that our solid oak flooring is particularly thick and therefore very heavy. 65m2 will weigh approximately 1 tonne/1000kg.
