Product Details

Description

A characterful boarded oak door with a distinctive diamond glazing frame: closely joined, v-grooved vertical boards in solid European oak, ready for the glass of your choice.

About the Suffolk Diamond Oak Door

The Suffolk Diamond is defined by its closely joined vertical boards, separated by v-grooves that pick out each board, with a diamond-shaped glazing frame set into the design. The frame comes complete with all fixings, ready for you to fit your own glass, whether a frosted panel for privacy or leaded glass for a truly individual look. Both faces share the same design. For a more contemporary look with deeper grooves, see the Mexicano Contemporary door.

Handcrafted solid oak

Made to order in the UK from hand-selected Grade A solid oak, chosen for the finest quality and most pleasing grain. It is built using traditional twin 16mm hardwood dowel joints for a durable, long-lasting door. The door is 44mm thick, available in four standard sizes and to bespoke sizes on request, and comes complete with a matching oak weather bar on the exterior face.

Finishing & Care

This door arrives prefinished and ready to hang, professionally finished to bring out the oak's natural tone and grain. Like any external oak door, it is best fitted in a sheltered spot, under a porch or canopy, rather than fully exposed to driving rain or strong sun. Timber is a natural material and can move a little as it settles in; the occasional minor adjustment is a normal part of looking after a solid oak door.

Although supplied prefinished, this door should be re-coated roughly every six months with a suitable external treatment such as the Impranol range, and kept dry through the use of a canopy or similar. For full guidelines, please visit our External Door Protection Page.

Important Information

Please note that all of our solid oak products (unless otherwise stated) are initially unfinished. If you choose to have your solid oak product prefinished, when installing door fittings and/or trimming the door size, be sure to treat newly exposed surfaces with a Hardwax oil to reseal those areas. The doors displayed on our website vary in appearance due to the different finishes being used by ourselves and customers alike; in addition to the natural qualities of the wood, this will also contribute to the door’s appearance. All hinges, handles, levers, and door accessories are for illustration purposes only and sold separately. We cannot guarantee an exact match to images used across our door product imagery for the reasons stated above.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I care for this door?
This door is designed for external use, but it must be protected correctly before installation and maintained regularly. We recommend a suitable hardwax oil; most paints, stains and standard varnishes are unsuitable and their use will most likely void the warranty.
Does this external oak door include glass?
No, glazing is not included. The door is supplied with a diamond-shaped glazing frame and fixings, allowing you to choose your own glass.
How do I maintain this door?
Clean with a soft, slightly damp cloth and avoid harsh chemicals or excess moisture. For ongoing protection, we recommend a suitable hardwax oil; most paints, stains and standard varnishes are unsuitable and their use will most likely void the warranty.
Does this door come with a warranty?
Warranty cover depends on the product being fitted, finished and maintained correctly in line with the supplier guidance.

For Standard deliveries, you will receive contact from the courier prior to delivery. For Express deliveries, you will not receive contact from the courier, with the aim to avoid delays in the Express delivery.

If you have chosen additional options for your items such as prefinishing, please allow up to an additional 10 working days for delivery. This will depend on the number of in-house oiling requests and the chosen finish which will affect the number of coats and required drying time.

Generally delivery is a weekday service. Couriers may however operate on weekends during busy periods. As such, we are unable to offer weekend deliveries, but this may be offered by the courier if they call to arrange your delivery date and time. Please note that your delivery will be made to the kerbside. As such, please ensure you can move your order to a secure location.

All delivery times given are based on orders being placed before 12-midday and the lead times are from once your order has been dispatched, not placed.

As unforeseen circumstances can, on the rare occasion, cause delivery issues, we do not recommend booking any tradesmen until your items have been delivered.

Flooring Delivery

Delivery is typically 7-10 days from order date.  Your flooring will normally come on a pallet and be shipped using a kerbside delivery.  We will call you before delivery to agree a date that suits as someone will need to be available to help offload.  Please remember that our solid oak flooring is particularly thick and therefore very heavy.  65m2 will weigh approximately 1 tonne/1000kg.
