Oak Panel Doors
An oak panel internal door is built the traditional way, with solid rails and stiles framing a set of recessed or raised panels rather than one flat face. Period and traditional panels
Where the panel count follows a historic pattern, it becomes a period style in its own right. Our Victorian internal doors carry the classic two-over-two and six panel arrangements that suit character properties, while cottage doors lean on chunky ledged and panelled looks for a rustic feel. For a cleaner, flat-panel take, shaker doors keep the framing but simplify the detail. These all share the same framed, panelled construction, so you can match a period look to the age and style of your home without giving up the strength of a proper panel door.
Finish and glazing
Panel doors come prefinished, ready to hang with the oak already sealed, or unfinished for you to treat in your own tone. We recommend a suitable hardwax oil such as Treatex, and you will find everything you need in our door treatments; steer clear of ordinary stains and varnishes, which can affect the guarantee. Some panel designs are also glazed, setting toughened glass into one or more of the panels to borrow light between rooms while keeping the framed panel shape.
Fire-rated panel doors
Where building regulations call for a fire door, you do not have to lose the panelled look. Many panel designs are also made as fire doors, built with a denser core and intumescent seals to hold back fire and smoke.
