Description

Vancouver Oak Prefinished Bi-Fold Door

The Vancouver Oak Prefinished Bi-Fold Door is a space-saving folding door with a clean, flush contemporary face that settles easily into most interiors. It is one of our oak bifold doors, made from two leaves hinged together that concertina back along a track, opening up an internal space where a standard swing door would get in the way. That flat, unbroken face suits fitted wardrobes, storage cupboards, a utility or pantry, or a room divider, giving a pared-back look without a moulded or grooved pattern. It is faced in oak veneer over an engineered solid core, so the simple front still carries natural oak grain and warmth rather than a flat, featureless panel.

The flush styling makes it an easy match for modern interiors, and it sits within our contemporary oak internal doors range, so you can keep one look running through a home. The Vancouver is available as a wider family of doors, including panelled and glazed styles, and once fitted this door sits neatly against oak skirting and architrave in a matching tone.

It is prefinished and ready to hang at 35mm thick, in two widths, and the overall height of 1981mm includes the aluminium track. Bi-fold widths sit marginally under a standard hinged door, because the leaf pivots on a pin as it folds rather than swinging on a butt hinge, and there is a small trimming allowance of 2mm on each side. It arrives centre pre-hinged with the sliding track kit and full fitting instructions, ready to drop into many existing openings, and it takes a slimline handle you can match from our door handles and hardware.

Being prefinished it is sealed and ready to use, though any edge you trim still needs sealing where it exposes bare oak, including the folding edges. A suitable hardwax oil such as Treatex is all it needs, and stain, varnish or paint should be avoided, as these are unsuitable and can void the warranty. Our internal door treatments page covers what to use and how to keep the finish topped up. The veneer is FSC certified and the door carries a 10 year guarantee against manufacturing defects.

Important Information

Please note that this product is prefinished. When installing door fittings and/or trimming the door size, be sure to treat newly exposed surfaces with a Hardwax oil to reseal those areas. The doors displayed on our website vary in appearance due to the different finishes being used by ourselves and customers alike; in addition to the natural qualities of the wood, this will also contribute to the door’s appearance. All hinges, handles, levers, and door accessories are for illustration purposes only and sold separately.

Frequently Asked Questions
What finish would you recommend on this door?
We recommend using a suitable hardwax oil to protect the door in everyday use. Most paints, stains and standard varnishes are unsuitable for this purpose and their use will most likely void the warranty.
Is the Vancouver bi-fold door good for tight spaces?
Yes, the bi-fold design needs less opening space than a standard hinged door, making it useful for cupboards, en-suites and smaller rooms.
How is the Vancouver Oak Prefinished Bi-Fold Door constructed?
It is built with an engineered solid core construction.
What warranty does the Vancouver Oak Prefinished Bi-Fold Door come with?
This product is listed with a 10 year warranty. To keep the warranty valid, keep your proof of purchase, fit and use the product for its intended application, and follow the supplier and manufacturer guidance for installation, care and any permitted trimming or alterations.
