Solid Oak Interior French Door Kit

The Solid Oak Interior French Door Kit lets you build the classic French door look at home, assembling from solid oak components in around ten minutes. It is one of our modern oak internal doors, bringing a clean, contemporary feel to a room while keeping the warmth and grain of natural oak. It is made from 100% solid oak with no veneer, so the natural figure of the wood runs right through every part of the kit.

Because it is solid oak throughout rather than a veneered core, the assembled door has a substantial feel and the depth of grain you only get from solid oak, and it sits well against oak skirting and architrave in a matching tone. The width can be adjusted by trimming the central stiles, taking the door from its standard 838mm down to 686mm, and it is 35mm thick. Glazing is not supplied, so you can choose the look you want, whether bevelled glass, clear glass or a solid oak panel in the centre.

The kit is supplied pre-sanded and with all the fixings needed, so much of the hard work is done before it reaches you. It hangs on standard hinges and takes a lever handle, so you can match the ironmongery from our door handles and hardware.

The kit is supplied unfinished, so once it is assembled seal every face and edge with a suitable hardwax oil such as Treatex before use. Our door treatments cover what to use, and the maintenance guide explains keeping it topped up. If you need a size we do not stock as standard, the same solid oak is available made to measure.

If you choose to have your solid oak product prefinished, when installing door fittings and/or trimming the door size, be sure to treat newly exposed surfaces with a Hardwax oil to reseal those areas. Because it’s important that our products get to you in perfect condition and on time, we only work with trusted, reliable delivery companies who have an excellent reputation. To allow you to spend where it matters, the cheapest available delivery option will automatically be selected at the checkout stage. Don’t forget that orders over £750 will qualify for free shipping!

*We apply a shipping surcharge of £35.00 to certain postcodes for door orders and £25 for timber only orders, which can also add an additional 5 working days to the delivery lead time, see our delivery page for more information.

For Standard deliveries, you will receive contact from the courier prior to delivery. For Express deliveries, you will not receive contact from the courier, with the aim to avoid delays in the Express delivery.

If you have chosen additional options for your items such as prefinishing, please allow up to an additional 10 working days for delivery. This will depend on the number of in-house oiling requests and the chosen finish which will affect the number of coats and required drying time.

Generally delivery is a weekday service. Couriers may however operate on weekends during busy periods. As such, we are unable to offer weekend deliveries, but this may be offered by the courier if they call to arrange your delivery date and time. Please note that your delivery will be made to the kerbside. As such, please ensure you can move your order to a secure location.

All delivery times given are based on orders being placed before 12-midday and the lead times are from once your order has been dispatched, not placed.

As unforeseen circumstances can, on the rare occasion, cause delivery issues, we do not recommend booking any tradesmen until your items have been delivered.

Flooring Delivery

Delivery is typically 7-10 days from order date. Your flooring will normally come on a pallet and be shipped using a kerbside delivery. We will call you before delivery to agree a date that suits as someone will need to be available to help offload. Please remember that our solid oak flooring is particularly thick and therefore very heavy. 65m2 will weigh approximately 1 tonne/1000kg.
