Important Information

Please note that all of our solid oak products (unless otherwise stated) are initially unfinished. If you choose to have your solid oak product prefinished, when installing door fittings and/or trimming the door size, be sure to treat newly exposed surfaces with a Hardwax oil to reseal those areas. The doors displayed on our website vary in appearance due to the different finishes being used by ourselves and customers alike; in addition to the natural qualities of the wood, this will also contribute to the door’s appearance. All hinges, handles, levers, and door accessories are for illustration purposes only and sold separately. We cannot guarantee an exact match to images used across our door product imagery for the reasons stated above.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this door solid oak?
Yes. Our doors are made from several solid oak panels, and are 100% solid oak throughout.
What finish would you recommend on this door?
We usually recommend treating these doors with Treatex oil in a clear matt finish. This would need to be applied before the doors are fitted.
What do prefinished and unfinished mean?
These doors require a protective, sealing coat of hardwax oil prior to hanging. Hardwax oil protects against the absorption of moisture, helps prevent warping, and creates a protective, microporous layer over the doors. Pre-finished means we have applied this for you, unfinished means pre-sanded and ready to be treated by you.

For Standard deliveries, you will receive contact from the courier prior to delivery. For Express deliveries, you will not receive contact from the courier, with the aim to avoid delays in the Express delivery.

If you have chosen additional options for your items such as prefinishing, please allow up to an additional 10 working days for delivery. This will depend on the number of in-house oiling requests and the chosen finish which will affect the number of coats and required drying time.

Generally delivery is a weekday service. Couriers may however operate on weekends during busy periods. As such, we are unable to offer weekend deliveries, but this may be offered by the courier if they call to arrange your delivery date and time. Please note that your delivery will be made to the kerbside. As such, please ensure you can move your order to a secure location.

All delivery times given are based on orders being placed before 12-midday and the lead times are from once your order has been dispatched, not placed.

As unforeseen circumstances can, on the rare occasion, cause delivery issues, we do not recommend booking any tradesmen until your items have been delivered.

Flooring Delivery

Delivery is typically 7-10 days from order date.  Your flooring will normally come on a pallet and be shipped using a kerbside delivery.  We will call you before delivery to agree a date that suits as someone will need to be available to help offload.  Please remember that our solid oak flooring is particularly thick and therefore very heavy.  65m2 will weigh approximately 1 tonne/1000kg.

Still Have Questions?

If you still have questions regarding the delivery of your order, please give our dedicated Customer Service Team a call and they will be happy to assist you further.

Please Note: We are obliged to apply a shipping surcharge to certain postcodes. Enter your postcode at the checkout to see if any surcharges apply. Surcharges are applied on top of the Free Delivery and also incur a longer lead time (5-10 days). If you have any questions regarding surcharges, please call us on 01455 565 565 to find out more.
