Our Treatex Hardwax Oil is our recommendation and preferred method in finishing our internal oak doors. We have spent a significant amount of time testing a variety of oils and have found that this particular product offers the best finish by far; it leaves a clear finish so you can still identify the natural characteristics of the wood, such as the colour and graining.
The Treatex range has a much higher wax content than most others on the market; ensuring that the grain is suitably filled and the finish is left smooth and consistent. Another benefit of the oil is that it slows the moisture transfer between the wood and the atmosphere, ensuring the quality of the wood stands the test of time.
Oak furnishings and fixtures can give your interior a real sense of quality and are often vital in allowing you to achieve the overall design you’d like. It’s therefore important that they’re looked after and enhanced in any way they can, this product allows you to do just that and is suitable for all types of internal joinery such as flooring, worktops, stairs, doors and furniture.

Osmo UV-Protection Oil is a satin matt Oak stain finish for exterior wood especially recommended for vertical surfaces such as select solid oak doors, windows, timber cladding, fences, pergolas, etc. This product is micro-porous, thus allowing the wood to breathe. Because the oil does not form a seal on the surface of the wood it cannot peel, flake, crack or blister. Whilst transparent, this oil does have a tint to it and is designed to give as finish the same colour as oak and penetrates into the wood grain aiding the natural elasticity of the wood and helping to reduce shrinkage and swelling.
The complete finish blocks the greying process by a UV-Protection Factor of 12 in comparison to untreated wood and reduces shrinking and swelling of the wood. Containing active ingredients which protect from mould, algae and fungal attack, it is easy to apply as it does not dry during application, does not require a primer and can be renewed without the need for sanding. This oil prolongs the renovation time significantly when used as a top coat for staining wood
1 Litre covers approximately 16-20m2 on smooth wood - stripped and rough sawn will require more material.
Preparation
Ensure surfaces are clean and dry before application and are not previously sealed.
Application
Apply in THIN coats with paint brush or mohair roller. Always finish your brush or roller strokes by going in the direction of the wood grain.
Osmo recommend that this product is NOT used on horizontal surfaces eg floors and Decking. It is also NOT suitable for external veneer doors.

Application
This product is only suitable for internal solid oak doors, wooden floors and furniture.
Stir the Osmo Polyx oil tint to ensure even pigmentation, then apply a thin coat with a sponge, mohair roller or high-quality paint brush. Work in the direction of the wood grain and ensure any excess is removed.
It is usual to use one coat of your chosen colour of Polyx Oil Tints and a top coat of the Clear Osmo Polyx Oil, which reduces any visible damage to the coloured layer. If the colour needs to be darkened after the 1st coat has been applied then 1 more coloured coat can be applied, finished with a clear coat.
The white version of this product is ideal for achieving a limed or white washed effect. This is also known as a bleached effect, for a stronger bleached effect a 2nd coat of the white can be applied.

Ensure all previous sealed finishes are removed from the wood being worked upon. Clean and dry the surface before application.
Application
This product is only suitable for internal solid oak doors, wooden floors and furniture
Stir the Osmo Polyx oil tint to ensure even pigmentation, then apply a thin coat with a sponge, mohair roller or high-quality paint brush. Work in the direction of the wood grain and ensure any excess is removed.

Drying times
Allow 8-10 hours and provide good ventilation. Product will be 'dust dry' after 6 hours approximately. For cork surfaces the drying time can be up to 24 hours.

Osmo Polyx Rapid Oil is without a doubt, a fantastic oil to treat internal solid oak doors with. It's also the product that we recommend! The product will soak into the wood and enhance the grain pattern, offering a stunning clear satin finish. Just apply the product onto the wood with a lint free cloth or a brush and it will glide on easily.
This oil is incredibly hard-wearing, micro-porous (breathable) and a water repellent surface treatment.
Each litre tin will cover approx. 8 square metres with two coats and depending on useage will look great for several years, after which it can simply be re-applied. It is resistant to many household liquids such as water, beer, juice and tea, as well as being saliva proof - making it perfect for children's toys. All the ingredients are European Pharmascopoeia compliant, ensuring that they are benzene free and contain only de-aromatised white spirit.

Treatex Hardwax Oil - Clear Matt
Suitable for all types of internal joinery such as flooring, worktops, stairs, doors and furniture (We have this on our own worktop and cannot recommend it enough)

About Oils, Waxes And Paints
Wood Treatments
When fitting new internal doors in your home, (external doors too) treating them is extremely important in order to maintain their appearance and ensure their longevity using door paints, door oils and door waxes. Untreated wood is at risk of being damaged or absorbing moisture whereas a door treated using oils, waxes and paints should not absorb moisture and has an additional layer of protection against cosmetic damage.
Our range of Treatex Hardwax Oils, waxes and paints has been put together to offer products which have been tried and tested over a number of years. The range also ensures that there are various finishes to allow our customers to achieve the exact look they desire. Our Osmo Hardwax Oils and Mylands Paints for internal doors and Mylands paints for external doors have proven quite popular in the last few years, and with its affordability and impact, we know exactly the reason why.
