Despite there being more than 20,000 species of edible plants in the world, less than 20 of these provide around 90% of the plant food we eat. This means that if you ever find yourself stranded in the wilderness, if you know what to look for and what to avoid, you should able to find plenty of nutritious (though not necessarily delicious...) food sources to keep you going until you find civilisation.
